I should probably remind people there are massive plot spoilers in each review.
I went into this thinking it was going to be lame, theater-IF. I like the theater, but I was afraid someone who wrote theater-based, romantic IF was going to be...you know, one of those people who enjoy things like 'Mamma Mia' or 'Cats'.
But no. This one has some sort of cracked-memory time rift - which was very jarring when some of the random text included 'you hear a cellphone ring' - and this rift involved Chaplin movies, abandoned buildings, and the Great War. And oh, god, this is an old person doing charming old person things and....dammit. I can't review this. I especially can't review this when my Great-Great-Great Uncle Kris's Great War dogtags are over there on the shelf, on display for Armistice Day, like they are for a week every year.
So, yeah, long story short: I can't really review it. I didn't notice any glaring technical problems, but that's likely because I was busy being weepy.
Ed. Note: After browsing some other reviews, I am relieved to know I am not the only person to react this way.
